Advocacy
___________________________________________________________________________
Returned ACYPL delegates understand
better than most the important role international exchanges
play in educating Americans about the world and, in turn,
conveying to our friends and allies in other countries the
values which buttress our democracy and our involvement in
foreign affairs. That's why ACYPL encourages alumni to not
only nominate their colleagues for future exchanges, but to
take an active role in supporting international exchanges
and advocating for an expanded international affairs budget.
One easy way to remain abreast of calls
to action is to monitor the Alliance for International
Education and Cultural Exchange's
website.
ACYPL is a longstanding member of this association of
non-governmental organizations which formulates and promotes
public policies that support the growth and well-being of
international exchange links between the people of the United
States and other nations. Please click
here to visit the Alliance's "Advocacy" page.
We also recommend that ACYPL alumni
periodically check the
website of the U.S. Global Leadership Campaign (USGLC), a
broad-based, nationwide coalition of businesses,
non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and community leaders
that advocates for a strong U.S. International Affairs Budget.
