Egyptian Parliamentary Assistance
___________________________________________________________________________

Through a grant from the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the US Department of State, ACYPL is conducting a staff exchange program between Egypt’s National Assembly and the United States Congress.  Currently in the second part of the bilateral exchange cycle, the program provides Egyptian staff members the opportunity to work in US congressional offices for three weeks to learn first-hand about office structure, communication with constituents, legislative support agencies, policy formulation, and legislative drafting.  US participants travel to Cairo, Egypt for one week to learn about the political structure of Egypt and engage in follow-on activities with Egyptian staff members by sharing best practices and providing information to assist the National Assembly in developing a corps of professional support staff.
