Apply now for the 2016 YSEALI Professional Fellows Program
“Looking to the future, I am excited to put the knowledge that I acquired during this fruitful program to practice as we, in Southeast Asia, approach the key issues facing the world. The challenges will certainly be interesting, but the opportunities are enormous and I will make the best of them.” -Elisabet Jupesta, Spring 2015 Fellow, Indonesia
ACYPL is now accepting applications for the 2016 Professional Fellows Program [PFP]. We are looking for political, policy, and civil society leaders between the ages of 25 and 35 from Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam to participate in 6-week intensive fellowships in the United States.
In 2013, President Obama launched the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI), a leadership and development initiative for young leaders between 18-35 from the ASEAN region.
After a brief orientation in Washington, DC, PFP fellows will travel to another city in the US for a 4-week fellowship centered around the US legislative process and governance, while also engaging in topics of professional interest. All fellows will receive guidance from fellowship hosts with the goal of strengthening their understanding of American governance and creating substantive follow-on projects to implement upon their return home.
*Spring program dates: April 23 – June 3, 2015
The deadline for applications is December 1, 2015.
